Apple Final Cut Studio 2 has quickly become the television, video, and film industry’s standard for postproduction workflow. With special attention paid to uses of Soundtrack Pro and Motion, Brian builds on the topics and techniques discussed in the Final Cut Pro 6 coursel from VTC. Hey, Brian Culp here, getting ready to hit you with this. OK, here we go. Finishing up this. Hey there. Brian Culp here for the Virtual Training Company, just in one of my edit suites putting the finishing touches on one of the movie projects that I've got going on right now. I think I'm going to call this one Star Wars. I think it's got some cache. I'm excited about it. I hope it gets into a theater; hopefully it will do well at the box office. I don't know yet, but I like what I've seen so far. Actually, I'm putting the finishing touches on a number of projects right now, a number of video projects, and I wanted to say welcome. One of the projects I'm finishing up right now is this Tutorial. In fact I do the introductory Tutorial toward the end Ð you can do that in filmmaking, you know, you don't have to shoot things in order. But I want to put this one together to introduce you to some of the topics that are coming up. You may or may not have seen the other Tutorial for the Virtual Training Company on Final Cut. If you have watched that one you can kind of consider that a Final Cut 101, or a Level One Course in Final Cut. This would be a Level Two Course, so it takes a lot of those principles and builds on those principles. There's a little bit of an overlap between the two things, so if you're cutting in new, or if you've had a little bit of experience with Final Cut and you're looking to take those skills to the next level, then this is the place you want to start again. This is kind of, think of this as a Level Two type of a class. So we'll cover quite a bit of ground here in this Tutorial, this would probably beget Levels Three, Four, and Five, certainly, but for now we focus on a lot of post production topics, skills, considerations for setting up your technical environment. We, again, talk about like Level Two skills with Final Cut. We incorporate Motion, we incorporate Sound Track, we talk about Output to DVD and other formats that you might want to use to share your work. We focus on Special Effects that you can use with these programs on cleaning, correcting, and sweetening both your audio and video, and then we spend some time as we did in the previous Tutorial, Final Cut 1, talking about tips and tricks and ways that you can make your projects the best that they can be. So, I think you'll agree that it will be a lot of information, a lot of information that will be very helpful and a lot of information that you can use, just a piece or two at a time. Of course, the entire Tutorial builds on itself, but you can take just a sliver here and a sliver there and still make good sense and good use out of the Tutorial. I'll leave my e-mail address at the end of the Tutorial. If you have questions that come up during this Tutorial, or during your projects, feel free to contact me and I'll do my best to get you an answer. Oh, and by the way, before I hit the button that turns this thing off I want to just warn you that this is the last opportunity you're going to get to see the author of the Tutorial in person here. The rest of it is me talking to the computer. I know that makes you very sad. I know, I'll give you a moment to go grab a Kleenex, grab a tissue, dry your tears, but unfortunately this is the last time you get to see this mug for the rest of the Tutorial, so enjoy.
