My name is Mark Long, and I'll be your author for this entire video series. Ah, we're going to cover about seven and a half, eight hours of information designed to get you up to speed on this A Plus Certification. Now a little bit of information about me. I live in Nashville, Tennessee, and ah, some of you folks in other parts of the country other than the South, might detect a slight southern accent. I've got clients ah in the northern United States, in the western U.S., and they tell me from time to time that ah either my accent drives them nuts, or they ah, it, it makes them feel good. They miss it from ah years that they spent in the South, maybe grew on up here, working here. So I hope I'm not irritating you too bad, and I promise you, and I always give this disclaimer on my courses, either in a live class or on the video series, that ah, I, I'll try not to use Southern technical terms on you like, ah fixing too, or y'all, or those sorts of things. So if you hear those, just e-mail me ah the e-mail address at the end of the course and remind me about those. I always like to get those. The reason you got me on this course is ah, part of the reason, is I have more than 20 years IT experience. I worked for a large telecommunications firm, and I'm really excited about doing this particular video series because A Plus has had a tremendous impact on my career. Ah, after 18 years at the company I decided to go out on my own and do consulting and training and all those sorts of things and when I got outside the company and began to work with people that didn't know me they began to ask questions about certifications that I held, and so for the first time I had to actually go out and, and learn about certifications, and, and grab some certifications, and I started with A Plus because it was the most general and most widely accepted understood certification out there, and so I started there and it really opened a lot of doors for me. So I'm really ah, excited about bringing this information to you. Ah, it will give you the perfect place to launch an IT career from and it will help you tremendously in knowing how to, a PC works, how to work on a PC, and really, everything you learn in the A Plus course, just, you, you build on that foundation no matter where you go from there.
