(SFX) Hi. there. This is Geoff Blake and I want to welcome you to our look here at Adobe Acrobat XI. And in this initial introduction what I'd like to do is I'd like to give you an overview, a brief idea of a lot of the different topics, a lot of the different subjects that you and I are going to tackle in this course. Let's take a quick look here. Here's sort of the, the running laundry list of items that you and I need to get to. So here we go. Right off the bat I'd like to have a discussion with you on exactly what PDFs are, the role that they play, a little bit of, of the functionality behind PDFs. And I also want to take some time and debunk three common PDF myths that, that seem to be circulating out there. So we'll tackle that right off the bat. Once we, once we have that understanding we're going to jump into the Acrobat environment. We're going to get comfortable working inside Acrobat and getting around inside Acrobat and I have lots and lots to show you there. I'll even show you how to go about customizing the Acrobat interface as well to your own liking. Once we have that out of the way we'll talk about navigating and moving within your PDF Files and I have lots to show on that topic as well. And I'll show you some, some quick techniques even some keyboard shortcuts as well. And then next it's on to moving and extracting and deleting pages from your PDF Files. In other words managing the pages within your documents. We'll replace some pages, we'll move them around and so on. After that we're into a look at working with things like watermarks, headers and footers inside your PDF documents. And I'll also show you how you can go about changing the numbering inside your PDF Files as well so I hope you look forward to that. And then I have a couple of quick techniques that I'd like to bounce off of you related to controlling or reducing the overall file size of your PDF documents so we'll take a look at that. And then a topic that everybody likes to, likes to know about, everybody likes to see adding security to your PDF Files. And I don't want to give away too much right now but I think you'll really, really enjoy that section, adding security to your PDF documents. Okay. After that we'll take a look at a variety of methods for extracting content from your PDF Files. Now what I'm talking about here? Well, I'm going to show you lots and lots of different methods, lots of different techniques for extracting text from your PDF Files, images from your PDF Files and so on. Whether it's just a little bit of text or all of the text, whether it's just one or two graphics or all of the graphics from your PDFs, pretty cool stuff so I think you'll like that as well. And then it's into the world of bookmarks inside Acrobat. I'm going to show you how to create structural navigational bookmarks but I'm also going to show you how you can use bookmarks to add a level of interactivity to your PDF Files. This is really, really cool stuff and again I don't want to give away too much right off the bat here but you'll really, really like that as well. And because we're already on the subject of working with interactivity or adding interactivity to our PDF Files, we will then move on and take a look at creating and working with hyperlinks within your PDFs as well. And then after that again another big subject that people love to know about, working with the Annotation Tools, the Commenting Tools inside Acrobat. This is a big popular subject as I say. So we can dig into that and then we'll also take a look at managing your comments and handling exported comments as well. So lots of great stuff ahead of us here. I hope it sounds good to you, I hope you're ready to dive into the world of Acrobat XI. So without further ado let's get started.
