Hello, and welcome to the Virtual Training Company presentation of the CompTIA A+ 2009 Edition Practical Application Exam Prep course. Hi, there. My name is Mark Long and I will be your instructor for this entire course. I'd like to welcome you aboard here and let you know that in this course we're going to go through the objectives on the Practical Application Exam as posted by CompTIA and we're going to get you ready for this exam. Now Exam 220-702 is really the second part of a two-part exam process that you'll have to go through with CompTIA to achieve A+ Certification with the 2009 Objectives. Now, this is not terribly difficult information if you've had a lot of hands-on experience with the PC. If you haven't, no big deal. You just have a little bit of things to get comfortable with to learn about and I'm going to step you through those, step-by-step, in this course. Now, a little background here. To get the A+ Certification at the 2009 Objective Edition you have to pass two exams. The first one is called Essentials, it's 220-701, and then you have to pass Practical Application. Now these two exams work together to give you the opportunity to prove, in a certified manner, that you have hands-on experience with PCs, you understand how they work, you know how to troubleshoot them and support them. Now, the A+ Certification is the most widely recognized certification in the world and it is well worth having this on your resume. This will open doors for you, especially if you're trying to break into the IT industry. A lot of large companies now, companies like Dell Computer and a lot of others, now require all of their technicians to be A+ Certified, so that's something that, unless it's changed in the very recent past, it is still that way at Dell and it's that way at a lot of large technology companies because providing technicians that are A+ Certified tells the whole world, hey, our folks know what they're doing. They have experience and we've even gone to an outside company and tested our people to make sure that they have the experience they need to work on your stuff. So, welcome to the course. I'm glad you're here. We're going to go about, I know more than six hours worth of information that I have outlined, we're going to go step-by-step through the Practical Application Objectives and get you ready for this exam and point you to some other resources if you need them to make sure that you're ready to go take this exam, get passed it, and get on with your career. So, thanks for coming. Let's get started.
