E-Commerce: Selling Online Course

Welcome to the Virtual Training Company's course on E-Commerce. I am Melanie Hedgespeth. E-commerce is simply selling items online. Those items can be physical items, digital items, and they can also just be services. E-commerce is 00:00:20 any company can expand, grow, and maintain a good customer base in a world that increasingly purchases products and services online for ease and efficiency. Of course, we've all heard, or ordered from some of the big online E-commerce players. Amazon is an example of that. There's eBay. Huge. Millions of people buy there. Some people set up a Yahoo store. Zappos is another E-commerce place that is known for its awesome customer service. Even though most of us are a smaller fish in the big pond we can learn from these big enterprises and apply their concepts to make an online business successful. We can even utilize a place like eBay, build us a store there, use their high traffic numbers of millions and millions of buyers so that we can get great customers and great views of our products. There's so many options out there for selling online it can be quite confusing and daunting. To make E-commerce easy to figure out I'm going to show you several different types of stores you can use; that way you can make the best decision for your business and either your products or services. Some options are going to be very complicated and require detailed setup, whereas others are more of the wizardy, quick set-up stores. No matter what you select, you're going to be successful in setting up some type of E-commerce site or an E-commerce store. Now the reasons people buy online is because it makes life easy. Buyers have quick shopping, 24-7. They get better choices and prices typically, and they have access to products that are otherwise unattainable. They even get to see peer and expert reviews of products. Now, as you work through this course, do so sequentially so you can build up on your knowledge and easily understand the lessons as we progress. We will go through a variety of options for selling online. Once you learn a platform you can easily set up any sales store or E-commerce site anywhere. We're going to look at commercial and open source options, and then also, at E-commerce stores. We'll even look at selling just single items online. If you want to list one thing on eBay, how do you do it? I'll show you how to do that. We'll also look at payment options.
