This Intermediate VTC course expands on the Introduction to Oracle 11g course. It gives you a more detailed grass roots knowledge of Oracle SQL and Oracle PL/SQL. Author and expert Gavin Powell covers a wide range of topics including many types of queries, expressions, and statements. He also explores sequences, synonyms, views, materialized views, user access and security, working with indexes, and the basics of programming with PL/SQL. As with the introductory course, this intermediate course is not focused on Oracle Certification but will give you a good start towards some more advanced aspects of coding SQL and PL/SQL. Welcome to VTC's Intermediate Oracle 11g Database Course. I am Gavin Powell and I will be your instructor. A quick mention about my skills before we get started. I have 25 years of hands on experience working in IT and with Oracle. You can find out more about me in the About the Author video at the end of this course. This course is the second in a series on Oracle 11g available from VTC. The other one is called Introduction to Oracle 11g Database. If you are a beginner it is suggested that you at least review the introductory course first so that you have the fundamentals. However even for more advanced Oracle practitioners, it's best to actually review the introductory course as well because this intermediate course is an extension of the introductory course rather than an enhancement of the introductory course. So let's get started with Oracle 11g Database Intermediate.
