Welcome to the VTC course for Joomla!, an amazing open source website content management system. In this VTC course you will learn Joomla! basics, things like installing Joomla! whether you do so locally, on your own computer, or through your web host. You're going to learn how to navigate the system, and we're going to utilize the Control Panel on the administrative side. We're going to look through and understand all the Joomla! terminology, so it's easy to work with for you, and you'll be able to complete a very basic and useable website. As you can see right here, is just a basic install, the frontend of a Joomla! website that the public will see. And back here is the backend, that you're going to use on the administrative side. We're going to continue looking through Joomla!, after we install it, and learn some of those basics, and we're going to go to some more advanced topics. We're going to look at areas like security, we're going to look at user rights. We're going to install templates, we're going to look at extensions, modules, components, layouts, we're going to actually install brand new extensions, that don't come with your default Joomla! install. You're going to really get to know and understand this backend administrative side. We're basically going to make it, so you can actually customize a website, that will really fit your needs, and make it look very unique for the public.
