Welcome to Mountain Lion. So this is the new operating system titled Mountain Lion, also referred to as OS 10.8. At the time of this recording we're at 10.8.2 so we've had a couple of small minor upgrades. But we're going to spend this course exploring the features, some of them basic, some of them advanced but especially those which are new in this version of the operating system. Now this operating system takes even a further plunge into mimicking what Opera's done with it's iOS. Particularly with the iPad and to an extent the iPhone as well. Because so many things on there have proven to be so successful that they wanted to be able to move them from that platform into the computer desktop, laptop operating system. So things like more of the gestures, Notification Center, integration of Facebook and Twitter. All of these things are now coming to OS X and so we're going to be able to explore how to set those up, how to use them efficiently and also we're going to revisit some of the things which have been there for a few versions. But are definitely things which you may find yourself using quite a bit. There are just so many new features and many of them are designed to really help with efficiency and bring a certain level of simplicity to your experience in this operating system. So we're going to get in there and cover this. So strap in, let's start watching videos and learning just what 10.8 has to offer us.
