Quicken Deluxe 2001 Course

Welcome everyone to a Virtual Training Company presentation. My name is Linda Young and I will be your host for the Quicken 2001 Deluxe course. If your desk is a mess of bills and tax forms and crumpled papers and the occasional invoice thrown in there, then the Quicken 2001 Deluxe program can help you. This is a very popular financial management program, that comes complete with a host of new and enhanced features that will make your life easier and somewhat more tidier than you've ever imagined before. The Quicken Deluxe program will help you manage several key areas of your finances. Throughout this course, we will be reviewing and going into great detail, all of these various areas. The first area that we will have an opportunity to explore is banking. The banking area will allow you among other things, to track daily activities, we will set up an online bank account, we will access the bank account. We will also learn how to pay bills online including your credit card transactions, etcetera. We will then move on to investing - investing will allow you to invest online, set an account up and research stocks. The third area is taxes, and I know taxes is just about everybody's favorite area. In this area, we will prepare and process your tax returns. Long-term planning will allow you to plan for all your future needs, including your children's education, your next family vacation and that well-deserved retirement. The spending area will allow you to track your spending habits, plan and prepare a budget along with sticking to that budget, which I know can be very difficult. We will also look at ways to reduce your debt. The savings area will allow you to track and plan your savings for future items that you want to purchase, perhaps a new car or a house. The loans area is a very interesting area of the Quicken 2001 program. It will allow you to compare loans at various financial institutions, and then apply for those particular loans. You are also able to apply for a Quicken loan online and this is a special program that has been set up through the makers of the Quicken program. The final area is insurance. With insurance you are able to compare and review different insurance quotes that you can receive instantly online. You can compare companies, types of insurance, etcetera. Before we move on in this course, I want to take a few moments here to explain how this course has been designed. This course has been designed for an audience that has some knowledge of basic accounting and computer terms. Many of the accounting and computer terms that I will be using in this course I will explain as we go through. Examples that I will be using throughout this course are from real life experiences. These real life experiences are either experiences that I myself have had with the Quicken 2001 program, or experiences from colleagues of mine or other individuals who have used this particular program. And finally the course is organized as a reference, in which you can jump from chapter to chapter. This is especially useful if you are an experienced user and you may find particular information, especially in the earlier chapters may be redundant, and you already have covered that information, or know that information. However, if you are a new beginner to Quicken 2001, I do recommend that you do go through each chapter in the order that has been set out in this particular course. Let's now get started on our Quicken adventure, and good luck everyone.
