jQuery Course

Hi, this John Fontana and I'll be your instructor through this course covering jQuery. This course is designed to teach you how to get the most out of jQuery so that you may apply this knowledge in your web applications. Let's get started with a look at what this course will cover. First, we'll give you a quick run through of the basics of jQuery. The beginning sections of this course will teach you how to select elements on a web page, which is one of the most fundamental aspects and get and set the attributes of these elements. Manipulation and use of CSS will be covered, as well as interaction with forms and form fields. This course will show you how to implement several existing useful jQuery plugins. We will also go into detail and demonstrate how to create your own. One of the reasons that jQuery is so popular, is it's ability to provide highly interactive and visually appealing features. We'll look at handling events such as mouse movements and keyboard actions, animation, special effects and drag and drop functionality. This course will also provide lessons on many advanced uses of jQuery. Browser history features will be discussed as jQuery provides a level of interactivity that often means that users no longer have to navigate to a different page to view different content. We will look at ways to use jQuery in conjunction with PHP and MySQL to create dynamic and interactive web applications. jQuery's AJAX features and mobile library will also be discussed. We have a lot of material to cover, so let's get started.
