Java 7 WEB APPLICATIONS (JSP SERVLETS JSF) is the industry standard for developing server side Java applications. During this VTC course, students will learn how to build modern, scalable web applications. The focus here is on building web-enabled applications that employ Servlets, JavaServer Pages, and Tag Libraries to exploit the services provided by Java 7. This course covers architectural design issues as well as specific coding models for Java Web Applications. Students will build an application that uses the following technologies: JavaServer Faces or JSF, Jquery, Ajax, Json, Servlets, JSP, and JSTL. Seasoned Java Developer David Saenz will demonstrate the power of Java Web Applications and why Java is favored in the industry to provide real world solutions. Source code is provided to implement and see real world web applications perform. The work files will allow you to deploy, test, and modify actual application logic. (SFX) Welcome to the Virtual Training Company. I am David Saenz and I will for your facilitator for this course. In this video we will take a look at an overview of web basics with the Java programming language. If there's something that has drastically changed the way information is delivered to us, it is the Internet. At the very touch of our fingertips we have almost limitless information instantly available. The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use protocols to serve billions of users worldwide. The Internet changed every industry from banking and commerce to how we order or review products and services to how we socialize. This is a very interesting and exciting topic to cover. There are still many innovative ideas constantly emerging that both shape and transform our business and societal habits. Perhaps yours could be the next one. This course will give you the tools to bring your ideas for the web to life. We're going to be looking at client side development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. We're going to be learning about how html or HyperText Markup Language, the standard markup which every browser receives when accessing information on the web. CSS or Cascading Style Sheets with style sheet language used for describing the presentation semantics, the look and formatting of a document written in a markup language. We're also going to be looking JavaScript which brings a dynamic functionality to your websites. Server side development with servlets, JSP and JSF. We're going to be learning how to implement server side APIs to receive information and interaction from our clients. APIs such as servlets used to extend the capabilities of a server. The server that which is a small Java program that runs within a web server and receives and responds to requests from web clients. JSPs or Java Server Pages which will assist you in creating dynamically generated web pages and also JSF or Java Server Faces for implementing component based user interfaces for web applications. We're also going to be bringing all these applications and technologies together to demonstrate the implementation of complete web solutions that are robust secure and user friendly. With real world insight and experiences from real world applications. These are the fundamental principles and basic building blocks upon which all web applications are built from. Amazon which is used to sell goods and services, EBay for auctioning items, Facebook for socializing with friends and Twitter to get whatever's on your mind out to your followers. This and many more applications all began with the fundamental principles that you will be learning in this course. I will also be including example code, CSS and other text files within the Work Files folder so you can easily try the examples yourself. Let's begin.
