As part of the release of the Office 2010 software suite, Microsoft is introducing the latest version of Access, their entry-level database application software. Don't let the words 'entry-level' fool you, this is one very powerful database tool. Access was designed to collect, store, manage, report, and dissect data for individuals and small businesses. The release of the 2010 version continues to raise the bar of what an entry-level database product can do. In this course, Mark Long takes you from opening Access 2010 for the first time through the entire process of creating a database. He covers tables, queries, forms, reports, and many of the other bells and whistles that make up Access 2010. Click the movie links below to get started now!
Well, hello there. Welcome to the Virtual Training Company presentation of Microsoft Access 2010. My name is Mark Long and I'll be your instructor for this course, and we are going to unpack Microsoft Access 2010 together. Now, this is the latest release of Microsoft's entry level database product, but don't let those two words - entry level - fool you one bit. There is an awful lot of horsepower under the hood with Microsoft Access. We're going to, first of all, take a look at database terminology, good database design in general, just going to touch on that, and then we're going to jump in and begin to peel away the layers of Microsoft Access. And I'm going to take you step by step through. How do I start creating databases, tables, relationships - all that stuff, and then we're going to slowly build out a cool little Access application with forms and reports, and you can see exactly what to do to get up and running with Microsoft Access. And then I'm going to show you some little demos and tips that will kind of unlock those other rooms for Access, that you can actually blow the lid off this thing and do some really powerful database work. So with all that to look forward to, let's just jump into the course and get started with Microsoft Access 2010. I'm glad you're here.
