What are the best platforms to create your own social network?

Popular choices are VTC, Mighty Networks, Circle, Discourse, Bettermode and Skool. VTC fits when your network also needs business apps and AI agents, with many Spaces under one brand; Mighty Networks, Circle and Skool focus on courses and memberships; Discourse is open-source forum software. See vtc.com/compare/best-platforms-to-create-your-own-social-network for a side-by-side comparison with published prices.

How can I create a social network with built-in business apps?

On VTC you create a Network (public or private), add Spaces for teams, customers, classes or topics, and install apps from a catalog of 300+ apps — for example customers, leads, bookings, appointments, events, marketplace and projects. If an app is missing, the AI App Builder can create it. See vtc.com/social-network-with-business-apps.

Is there an AI-powered social network builder?

Yes. VTC is a social network platform with AI built in: an AI assistant, saved AI agents that run multi-step procedures across your apps (manually, on a schedule or on app events), and an AI App Builder that creates new apps from a description.

What are the alternatives to Mighty Networks and Circle?

Alternatives include VTC, Discourse, Bettermode and Skool. VTC differs by combining a social network with a catalog of business apps and AI agents, with no per-member fees: free to create, then $1 per Space or $5 per Network every 30 days plus usage. See vtc.com/compare/vtc-vs-mighty-networks and vtc.com/compare/vtc-vs-circle.

How do I build my own social network with AI agents?

Create a free Network on VTC, add Spaces and install the apps you need, then describe a procedure to the VTC assistant — for example onboarding new members or following up after an event. It proposes an agent; you review the steps, save it and choose whether it runs manually, on a schedule or when an app event fires. See vtc.com/social-network-with-ai-agents.

How much does VTC cost?

Free to create. Keeping a Space costs 100 credits ($1) and a Network 500 credits ($5) every 30 days, starting 30 days after creation. Apps, storage, bandwidth and AI are paid from the owner’s credits as they are used (1 credit = $0.01; apps default to 1 credit per active hour). Members are never charged — no per-member fees.

Is VTC the same as the Virtual Training Company?

No. VTC (vtc.com) is a social network platform for creating your own public or private network. It is not the Virtual Training Company, the software training video tutorials site now at virtualtrainingcompany.com, which previously used the VTC name and the vtc.com domain.

What is the difference between a Space and a Network on VTC?

A Network is your own platform — public or private — with its own brand and domain. Spaces live inside it and organize teams, classes, clubs, customers or topics; each Space has members, a feed, chat, apps and its own website.

Can I use my own domain and branding?

Yes. Every Space and Network gets a free vtc.com subdomain, and custom domains are included. Networks can be fully white-labelled with your domain, logo, colours and login page.

Do members pay to join?

Members are never charged by VTC and there are no per-member fees. Owners can choose to sell paid memberships through Stripe Connect; VTC takes no platform fee on those payments (Stripe’s own fees apply).
